About Me
I’m Ankur Dhar, a recent graduate of University of California Berkeley in Physics, and a life long resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, specifically Fremont. I have just completed my Master of Philosophy at the University of Cambridge with a thesis on Kinetic Inductance Detectors (KIDs) at the Cavendish Laboratory. Now I am on the opposite end of the globe, pursuingĀ a PhD in Physics from the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST). In general my research interests have been anything related to building devices (ie instrumentation) and using them to answer questions about the universe.
I also enjoy reading, particularly books on philosophy, religion, or just old epic tales that have survived the ages. If I am not working I am probably reading, or sleeping because my brain is tired from both. I have a passion for building things out of K’nex, especially before stressful exams. There is nothing more satisfying than creating something with your own hands, and it is how I wish to live the rest of my life.
